This is a unique riding experience, it is the sole riding centre in the UK dedicated to caring for ex-racehorses. It is not a charity, but a sanctuary for around 25 horses at any one time. Because it is not a charity, the horses earn their own keep from being ridden.

HWAD - Ian McAlpine & Annee Charland in Partnership

Ian has been a lifelong fan of the thoroughbred horse. He is an extremely accomplished rider and has an uncanny eye for suitable horses. Several horses that have been donated to the stables have been successfully trained to become flourishing competition mounts.

Annee specialises in equine behaviour Her in depth knowledge of ''what the horse is thinking'' transmits to her unique brand of tuition, which in turn brings regular clients from far and wide.
