2009 – A choice of two:
NEW FOREST MID-WEEK RIDING HOLIDAYS
Escorted by Annee & Ian

Absolutely amazing and varied riding country, super pubs for lunch stops and evening meals and friendly, comfortable B&Bs for relaxing and stocking up on a good breakfast for the day ahead which includes getting down and dirty with your horse!

This is an ideal time to develop a relationship with the horse we have chosen for you and with both of us on the rides to offer advice or assistance, a time to develop or brush up on your riding skills.

2½ day option:

Tuesday:

We plan to arrive in the New Forest with the horses around 1100 and meet up with our riders to settle the horses into their stables, and riders into their rooms, in time to get to the local for a quick pub lunch, while horses eat their ‘not so interesting lunch’!!  Following lunch, we tack up and go out for a lovely afternoon ride.

Once back, and horses have been attended to, there is a chance to relax and do your own thing before meeting up for a jolly evening at one of the many tried and tested (all by Ian) local hostelries before finally retiring for the night.

Wednesday:

At 0730 the horses are fed breakfast by Ian/Annee and morning stables begin with riders split into two groups, one group being on the yard by 0730 (pre human breakfast) and the other by 0830 (post human breakfast) as we will need everyone involved otherwise we will never get out riding.

We plan to have a stop at a pub for a lunchtime drink and maybe a snack if hungry - usually not the case due to size of breakfast.  On arrival back at base, the routine is much the same as Tuesday.

Thursday:

As Wednesday apart from different route and pubs.

Friday:

Similar morning stables format plus an additional tidying up exercise to leave the stables/yards spick and span.  All horses and their belongings to be loaded on the horse boxes for journey home.

The cost is £450 which includes:

            Hire of the horse
            Horse transport
Stabling - including bedding and feed
            Bed and breakfast

Lunch time drinks etc plus evening drinks and dinner is not included in the price.

Payment:

A £100 deposit is taken at the time of booking and one month prior to going, a further amount of £100 is payable. The final payment of £250 is taken 10 days before leaving.  These amounts are paid in stages to allow us to pay related expenses to our New Forest colleagues and once these payments are made, we cannot refund your money.

2 day option:

Sunday:

Ian and I will drive to the New Forest with the horses early evening to settle them into their stables for the night in readiness for Monday.

Monday:

At 0730 the horses are fed breakfast by Ian/Annee and morning stables are done, we then have our breakfast and following that well earned feast, go back on the yard to start grooming and awaiting your arrival which should be by 9.30am so we can be out riding by 10.30am.

We plan to have a stop at a pub for a lunchtime drink and maybe a snack if hungry.  Once back, and horses have been attended to, there is a chance to relax and do your own thing before meeting up for a jolly evening at one of the many tried and tested (all by Ian) local hostelries before finally retiring for the night.

Tuesday:

At 0730 the horses are fed breakfast and morning stables begin with riders split into two groups, one group being on the yard by 0730 (pre human breakfast) and the other by 0830 (post human breakfast), as we will need everyone involved in getting morning stables done to enable us to get an earlier start to our day’s riding.

We plan to have a stop at a pub for a lunchtime drink and maybe a snack if hungry - usually not the case due to size of breakfast.  On arrival back at the yard the horses are cleaned off etc and left to eat and relax in their cosy stables, goodbyes are said and off home you go.

Wednesday:

Similar to Monday morning plus a tidying up exercise to leave everything spick and span.  All horses (and their belongings) are loaded on the horse boxes for journey home.

The cost is £350 which includes:

            Hire of the horse

Stabling - including bedding and feed
            Bed and breakfast

A £100 deposit is taken at the time of booking and one month prior to going, a further amount of £100 is payable. The final payment of £150 is taken 10 days before leaving.  These amounts are paid in stages to allow us to pay related expenses to our New Forest colleagues and once these payments are made, we cannot refund your money.

FOUR DAY RIDING HOLIDAY
IN THE BEAUTIFUL SURREY COUNTRYSIDE

Tuesday – Friday

This weekday holiday has something for everyone as the Surrey Hills/North Downs are not only beautiful but offer hours of uninterrupted countryside with magnificent views and scenery.

You will have the opportunity to ride a different horse each day and it is up to you as to whether you get involved on the stable management side or not.  If you would like to spend time on the yard then we will be more than happy to involve you but alternatively if you would prefer to have us wait on you hand and foot, then that too is fine.  Your holiday, your call.

Itinerary:

Tuesday:

Travel to us, at your leisure, in the morning, settle into your B&B and if it suits, join us at our village pub for a spot of lunch.  In the afternoon we will take you for a one and a half hour hack and introduce you to the stables, staff and horses.

Wednesday:

A day ride is planned which will leave the yard circa 10am and be back mid afternoon.  We will stop lunchtime at a pub but, you will be required to hold your horse whilst having ‘refreshment’ as our horses do not approve of being tied up and left!  Sometimes a quick stop at another pub on the way home is required for a ‘comfort break’!

Thursday:

Similar format to Wednesday but a different route and pub(s).

Friday:

A two hour ride leaving at circa 10am which will get you back in time for lunch, again at our local or you may choose to start your journey home.  Whatever suits you best.

The cost is £350 which includes:

All ride costs

Bed and breakfast

Lunchtime drinks etc plus evening drinks and dinner is not included in the price.

Payment:

A £100 deposit is taken at the time of booking and the B&B is booked. A cancellation will result in the loss of this deposit.  Two weeks prior to the holiday, the balance is due and is subject to our cancellation policy which is on our pricelist and website.
